Projects Portfolio

My personal projects and editorial work allows me to explore different styles and concepts, bringing stories to life through photography. From rephotographing a scene using an historic photo or painting as a reference, to feature stories, to capturing the sense of a subject, I approach each project with creativity and passion.

Museum Exhibitions and Art Reproductions

Photographing for Museums and Artists

Photographing art exhibitions and artwork for museums and artists is a specialized skill that requires attention to detail and a deep appreciation for art. I aim to capture the beauty and intricacies of each piece, ensuring that my photos do justice to the artwork.

Edward Hopper: Then and Now

A Photograph Journey Through Edward Hopper's World

I have researched and photographed over 190 locations throughout the New England and New York area that were the inspirations for Edward Hopper's paintings. An edited version of these visual comparisons of Edward Hopper's painted locations has been exhibited at several venues. "A Photographic Journey Through Edward Hopper's World" was first exhibited at Cape Cod's Highland Light Museum in 2010, then, in 2011 at the Edward Hopper House Museum in Nyack, NY. What was meant to be a temporary showing has turned into a long-term exhibition. Due to popular demand, edited versions of this exhibition have been on display since 2011 and are still on view today. Cape Cod Life

Cape Cod Life

Due to the success of my "A Photographic Journey Through Edward Hopper's World" comparisons project, I was contacted by the editor of Cape Cod Life magazine to photograph a series of then and now photos for their annual guide - and this was the perfect excuse to spend more time on the Cape! We used one historic photo of an interesting or storied location of each Cape Cod town and island. This annual guide was so well received that I was asked to return many times to contribute photography for other feature stories and projects.

Fitchburg, MA : Then and Now

An All American City: Fitchburg Then and Now

Funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, I juxtaposed old photographs of Fitchburg with views of the same scene today. Researching through the vast collection of images at the Fitchburg Historical Society, and the collections of area residents, it was intriguing to view a vintage postcard or an historical photo and compare the same scene today to see what has changed - or what has not - over time. Prints of this project are part of the Fitchburg Historical Society's permanent collection.
